Smart Board Lessons for Language Teachers
Hello, and welcome to eTools for Language Teachers.
I am very excited to be able to share the digital teaching tools that I have developed for my classes at Crescent School in Toronto.
It is no secret that students love technology. I believe that PowerPoint and SMART Board™ interactive whiteboard activities engage students like no other FSL teaching medium. Gone are the glassy-eyed stares and stifled yawns so prevalent when I taught thematic vocabulary with flashcards. Once my LCD projector goes on, I know that I will have a captivated audience!
At first, I spent many hours searching the Internet for digital programs for the language teacher, but was surprised to find very little. So, I began creating my own programs. Over the past few years, I have spent many hundreds of hours building the files that are now available on this site. There are lots of downloads to give you a detailed sense of what you can expect when you purchase the CD's. Feel free to use these as templates to create your own files. On the other hand, save yourself the time and just buy the CD's! ;)
I originally created the SMART Board files for use in the FSL classroom. Upon showing these programs to my colleagues, I was encouraged to create the same files in other languages. The ESL program is now available on the site with other languages to come.
There are also many powerpoint presentations that I use in my FSL classroom which are available to download on this site at no charge. Click here to view.
